Citizens State Bank’s History

Citizens State Bank has a long heritage here in East Texas. With almost five decades of history and experience driving our business culture, we know what it is to be the local banker that addresses community needs. On October 9th 1967, Chandler State Bank opened its doors for business for the first time. The Bank served Chandler, Texas for 23 years before deciding to venture out of Henderson County into Tyler, Texas. In July of 1990, Chandler State Bank acquired Bank of East Texas. This marked the change from Chandler State Bank to Citizens State Bank. Since 1990, Citizens State Bank has opened six additional locations across East Texas; Tyler, Athens, Lindale, Mabank and Seven Points. Present date, Citizens State Bank is still locally owned and operated by the Kidd Family Legacy, with more than $320 Million in Assets. The Bank thrives to offer a wide array of services to individuals and businesses that are modern and beneficial. Some of these services include: mortgages; credit cards; personal and commercial deposit accounts; loans; brokerage services and ATM’s. Citizens State Bank strives to be the best bank in the markets we serve from a customer, employee and ownership perspective by achieving excellence in all that we do.
